The ULTIMATE Downloading, Link Checking, and Ad-Busting Tutorial!
Tutorial by Dr Macinyasha

I hope you guys like this... I spent a whole day tweaking the scripts and putting this tutorial together from scratch, and making all the pics and uploading the files.

What is this tutorial? Well, it combines my two previous tutorials (Download from Rapidshare and FileFactory Like a Pro, and Never See Ads Again!) and updates them with specially modified scripts and ad filters! Cool eh? Just wait! Imagine, practically never seeing ads on sites like MySpace, or even on pay-to-click sites like bux.to! If you've already followed my other two tutorials, go to Greasemonkey and uninstall the scripts from the other tutorials.

Step 1. Download and Install Firefox and FlashGet
Download and install the latest version Firefox and FlashGet if you don't already have them:
Mozilla Firefox:
CODE
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/?

FlashGet:
CODE
http://www.flashget.com/en/download.htm

Step 2. Install Add-Ons
Once you have Firefox installed, go to these URLs and click on the green "Add to Firefox" button. A window will popup and ask you if you want to install the plugin for Firefox, after a few seconds, you'll be able to click "Install" and the Add-ons window will pop up. Wait for all of the plugins to say "Restart to complete the installation." and once they do, click on the "Restart Firefox" button in the lower-right corner of the Add-ons window.

Greasemonkey:
CODE
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748

Linkification:
CODE
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/190

Adblock Plus:
CODE
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Adblock Plus: Element Hiding Helper:
CODE
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4364

FlashGot:
CODE
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/220

If Adblock Plus asks you which list you want to subscribe to, just click cancel. We'll deal with that later.
Now, we're going to configure some of these.

Step 3. Configure Linkification
Go to Linkification's preferences (Tools|Add-ons|Linkification|Options) and check or un-check everything appropriately so that the first three tabs (General, Links, and Functionality, don't worry about Advanced) look like these three pictures:

------------------------------------------------------------------

(Linkification General Options)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Linkification Links Options)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Linkification Functionality Options)
------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, click the "OK" button on the Linkification Options window.

Step 4. Configure FlashGot
OK, we're going to make this easy. Go to FlashGot's Options (Should be a little bit above Linkification in the Add-ons window) and do just like what you did for Linkification; make FlashGot's tabs look like these in terms of the settings: (these are my (Viper3773) settings.. not to much changes but hey it works. When you want to download something highlight your downloading links and right click and goto flashgot selection.. works great smile.gif

------------------------------------------------------------------

(FlashGot General Options)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(FlashGot Menu Options)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(FlashGot Downloads Options)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(FlashGot Privacy Options)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(FlashGot Advanced Options)
------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that you have that done, you can click on "OK" in FlashGot's options window, and now close the Add-ons window.

Step 5. Install Greasemonkey Scripts and AbBlock Plus Filters
Alright, here's the fun part! Now, we've gotten the Extensions installed, so let's get them working! Download this file from Rapidshare:
CODE
http://rapidshare.com/files/141634900/scripts_drmacinyasha_www.theviperfiles.com.rar

Once it's done downloading, close all Firefox windows and copy the RAR archive to your Desktop, and extract the adblockplus and gm_scripts folders. Now, open up Windows Explorer and navigate to your Mozilla Firefox Profile folder. If you don't know where that is, it's easy to find out:
For Windows Vista: Go to Run (press the Windows Key and R at the same time) and type in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles (Copy and pasting is fine) and click the only folder visible. It should end with .default.
For Windows XP and Earlier: Go to Run (press the Windows Key and R at the same time) and type in %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles (Copy and pasting is fine) and click the only folder visible. It should end with .default.

So, now that we're in your profile folder, let's delete the adblockplus and gm_scripts folders that are already there (they might not be) and then copy in the ones from your Desktop that originated from the above RAR archive.

Alright, and to finish it all up, we're going to open Firefox, navigate to any page that has a Rapidshare, Megaupload, Filefactory, etc. link (such as this one) and right-click on the Greasemonkey logo in the bottom-right corner of the window and go to User Script Commands... | AIO Links Checker : Preferences. We're just going to tweak this a little bit. Make sure that Clickable Dead Link, Show extra info, (RS.com) Auto Download, (RS.com) Remove .HTML, Show status box, Kill Dereferer Sites, and Auto Check for Update are CHECKED and that Replace link to filename, (RS.com) Add .HTML, and Add Dereferer Site are NOT checked.

------------------------------------------------------------------

(Download the RAR archive)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Copy it to your Desktop)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Extract the gm_scripts and adblockplus folders)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Navigate to your Mozilla Firefox Profiles folder via the Run command)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Open your profile folder and delete the adblockplus and gm_scripts folders)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Copy the adblockplus and gm_scripts folder from your Desktop to your profile folder)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Open Firefox and navigate to a page with a checkable link, then right-click on the Greasemonkey logo)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Go to User Script Commands... | AIO Links Checker : Preferences)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Change the settings to be the same as these, and then click Save)
------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, that's it!

Yeah, really, you're done!

...stop staring, you're all done! I swear!

So what did we do? Well, we added some link checker scripts that will put a big green check next to any working Rapidshare.com, Rapidshare.de, MegaUpload, MediaFire, FileFactory, MegaShares.com, DepositFiles, NetLoad.in, and Easy-Share.com links, and a bix red X next to any dead links, and dead RapidShare and FileFactory links all get a line through them, and a black background. In addition, you'll NEVER have to copy and paste a link into the address bar again, because 99.9% OF EVERY LINK YOU COME ACROSS FROM NOW ON WILL BE CLICK-ABLE! If you see a link and it is not clickable, just double-click on it and it will be opened in a new tab!

Mini-Tutorial! How To Download!

Now, in this tutorial (for now) I'm only going to cover downloading from Rapidshare and MegaUpload. There are four tutorials: Rapidshare Premium, Rapidshare Free User, MegaUpload Premium, and MegaUpload Free User. They are all very similar.

Rapidshare.com Premium User
OK, so Premium users for Rapidshare will have things pretty easy. First, go to this URL:
CODE
https://ssl.rapidshare.com/premiumzone.html

Enter your Premium Account's credentials (account number/alias and password) and click on "Premium Zone Login". In your Premium Zone, go to the Settings page. Here, make sure that "Direct downloads" is checked. Click "Save" and in the popup click "OK" and then "Logout".

------------------------------------------------------------------

(Login to your Premium Zone)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Click on "Settings")
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Check off "Direct downloads" and then click on "Save"
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Click "OK" and then click on "Logout")
------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, find a file and just drag its link to FlashGet's Drop-Zone. In the "Add new download" dialog box, configure where you want to save the file to via the "Save to" field (I use a folder called "Downloads" in My Documents by default) then check off "Login to server". Enter your Rapidshare Premium Credentials into the "Username" and "Password". After that, just click "OK" and let it go!

------------------------------------------------------------------

(Click and drag the link to FlashGet's Drop-Zone)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Enter your Download Destination, Rapidshare login number/alias and your password after checking off "Login to Server")
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Watch FlashGet go!)
------------------------------------------------------------------

If you want to download a batch of files, just highlight them and drag them to FlashGet's Drop-Zone. It will bring up a "Select URL" window. Just make sure everything you want is checked, and click "OK". Go through the Add new download window like you would for a single file, and if it asks to use the same settings for all files, just click "Yes".

Rapidshare.com Free User
This is a lot simpler. Just middle-click (or right-click on click on "Open Link in New Tab") on any Rapidshare.com link and you'll automatically be taken to the Enter-The-Captcha page on Rapidshare for your requested file. Wait for the timer to finish, enter the captcha code (if there is one) and click on "create link". After that, the Opening File dialog box will appear. Select "FlashGot" and if you need to, select "FlashGet" from the drop-down menu. Click "OK" and FlashGet should pop up with the Add new download dialog box. Just make sure "Login to Server" is not checked, and you have "Save to:" set properly, "Threads From main site" is set to 1, and "Start" is set to Immediately. Hit "OK" and watch FlashGet go!

------------------------------------------------------------------

(Rapidshare download page as free user with RS_Bundle and Linkification installed)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Opening File dialog box)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(FlashGet's Add Download dialog box)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Downloading as a free user, in FlashGet, from Rapidshare!)
------------------------------------------------------------------

MegaUpload.com Premium User
First, we'll need to configure your account. Go to this URL and login (it's the only page with a guaranteed working login form):
CODE
http://www.megaupload.com/premium/

Enter your login ID and password at the top, and click on "Login". You'll be taken to a page where it asks for you to extend your Premium account. Just ignore that and go to the MegaUpload home page:
CODE
http://www.megaupload.com/index.php

Click on "Transfer Settings" and on the Transfer Settings page, make sure that "Direct Downloads" is checked, then click on "submit". You can now close the window.

OK, so now, for any file you want to download, just click on the link, and the Opening File dialog will appear. Select "FlashGot" and if you need to, select "FlashGet" from the drop-down menu. Click "OK" and FlashGet should pop up with the Add new download dialog box. Just make sure "Login to Server" is not checked, and you have "Save to:" set properly, and "Start" is set to Immediately. Hit "OK" and watch FlashGet go!
Here's the trick: If you're downloading just one file from MegaUpload, you can set "Threads From main site" all the way up to 10, but if you're downloading multiple files from MegaUpload at the same time, I recommend that you set "Threads From main site" to 2 or maybe 3. The reason being that MegaUpload limits how many connections you can have to their servers at any given time, and it's less than 30 (FlashGet can handle up to eight downloads at a time, with ten connections each, so eighty connections max. MegaUpload doesn't like that, and from my tinkering I've found it only allows about 30 at most)

------------------------------------------------------------------

(Go to this page and login at the top)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(On the MegaUpload home page, click on "Transfer Settings")
------------------------------------------------------------------

(On the Transfer Settings page, make sure "Direct Downloads" is checked, then click on "submit")
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Click on a MegaUpload link and after a bit you'll get the Open File dialog window)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Add new download window for FlashGet)
------------------------------------------------------------------

MegaUpload.com Free User
Very simple. Just middle-click on a MegaUpload link (or right-click on click on "Open Link in New Tab") and you will be taken to the Enter-The-Captcha page. Type in the three-digit captcha code and click on "Download". Wait for the timer to wind down, and the Opening File dialog will automatically appear. Select "FlashGot" and if needed, select "FlashGet" in the drop-down menu and click on "OK". FlashGet's Add new download window will appear, and pretty much do the same thing you do for Rapidshare.com Free downloads; make sure "Login to Server" is not checked, and you have "Save to:" set properly, "Threads From main site" is set to 1, and "Start" is set to Immediately. Hit "OK" and watch FlashGet go!

------------------------------------------------------------------

(Enter-The-Captcha page)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Download timer page)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Download page and window)
------------------------------------------------------------------

(Add new download window for FlashGet)
------------------------------------------------------------------

What's the hitch? Well, if you have a premium account on MegaShares.com, RapidShare.de, DepositFiles, NetLoad.in, or Easy-Share.com and have direct downloads enabled on it, you're going to either have to stay signed out, or disable direct downloads, otherwise the scripts will download all those files in the background and slow down your computer to a crawl! The only other hitch is that you can't check more than 200 links per page for those sites I just mentioned. Don't blame me, blame the script's original maker.

So, that's the end of my tutorial! If you have a question or anything, feel free to reply or PM me, and if you would like to say thanks, by all means do so! If you really like this, or just wanna try it out, go ahead and download my ThankYou file as a free user:
CODE
http://rapidshare.com/files/141634899/DrMacinyasha_ThankYou_8.31.2008.rar

NOTES:
  • On most sites when downloading as a free user, you can only make one connection, and need to start downloading imeediately.
  • With MegaUpload (as a Premium User) you should tell FlashGet to restrict its number of connections to two or three. Only do the full ten if you're only downloading one or two files.
  • On Rapidshare.com, RS_Bundle will ask for a captcha, but from the looks of things, it's safe to ignore that if no captcha box appears.

  • June 24, 2008: Found out that the AIO Links Checker wasn't working right thanks to Rapidshare's new site so I replaced it with a more up-to-date version called Rapidshare Links Checker, but it covers Rapidshare.com, Rapidshare.de, and FileFactory.com.
